Earthlight Ltd · Kilkenny, Ireland

A studio for modern cinema.

Earthlight is a creative studio built for the modern film world. We develop and produce distinctive, character-driven stories that move audiences everywhere.

Built for the way films get made now.

Earthlight was started to do one thing well: develop and produce films with a specific point of view, made by teams who actually want to be in a room together. The industry has changed. Audiences have changed. We took what we've learned from twenty-plus years across studio and indie sets and built a company shaped for today's reality, and tomorrow's.

Our work lives where artistry meets audience: cinematic but human, clever without being cold.

We are based in Ireland, but the films we make travel. We have shot in twelve countries and counting, with crews and co-production partners across Europe and North America.

We handle everything from development to finance and production. We champion great writing, strong partnerships, and a working culture that values people as much as projects. If a project is going to take two years of your life, the people involved had better be worth it.

We've worked everywhere, on everything, from scrappy indies to large-scale features, with major studios and first-time filmmakers. Nearly sixty years of combined filmmaking experience, and it isn't a résumé item, it's a toolkit.

Four ideas we keep coming back to.

i.

Story over spectacle

We back films that come from a particular point of view. Specificity is the shortest route to universality.

ii.

Discipline as care

A well-run set is a kind set. We treat schedules, contracts and crew with equal seriousness.

iii.

Honest economics

We design finance structures to protect the work and reward investment. No magical thinking.

iv.

Long relationships

Filmmakers, financiers, festivals, distributors: we work with people we trust and intend to keep working with.

The people on the page.

A small senior team with a long shared history. We'll introduce the rest of the studio properly soon.
